Gunda

I cant imagine starting this blog without the mention of the masterpiece Gunda. Enough has been said about the movie by 1000s of blogs, facebook posts and fan clubs over the Internet.
Kanti Shah must be celebrated among the best film makers India has to offer. While, Gunda is certainly his masterpiece, he has many other brilliant movies to his name, Loha, Free Entry, to name a few.
Kanti Shah must be hailed in the same league as Ed Wood. I have watched Plan 9 From Outer Space, while many may debate if this movie belongs in the same league, I say, we must debate if Plan 9 belongs in the Gunda League. People argue that today Kanti Shah has been reduced to making soft porn movies, but so did Ed Wood. Ed Wood too made movies like Orgy of the Dead,  but we had Tim Burton making a movie about Ed Wood and his movies, starring Johnny Depp. We just dont give Kanti Shah the same kind of credit. Now, I'm not calling for a Kanti Shah biopic from Bollywood, as I know they wont get his genius and will only end up insulting his legacy. All I want is to watch more of his movies!! :)
